Halyard assisted with the design and construction management of a 150-person construction camp near the town of Farim in northern Guinea-Bissau. Halyard provided design of the earthworks and concrete foundations for pre-fabricated building (seven accommodation blocks, entertainment hall, mess hall, kitchen, and ablution facility).
Halyard sourced experienced personnel familiar with the challenges of working in remote areas of West Africa to successfully execute the construction management.
Halyard managed the specification, sourcing, and award of the water treatment and sewage treatment plants. The wrap-around engineering design was also completed by Halyard.
Despite the lean budget and challenges that come with remote construction, Halyard was able to successfully complete the project under budget whilst employing local labour to perform construction tasks.
