Barrick Gold Hemlo Gravity Plant Upgrades.

Halyard completed a turnkey project for Barrick Gold’s Hemlo operation in northern Ontario. The project involved installing a gravity concentrator and an intensive leach reactor to the SAG mill circuit.

This was a complex brownfield project that required Halyard to work within the confines of the operating plant. The existing steelwork was repurposed and tie-ins were well planned. Provisions were also made for installing a second gravity concentrator in the future.

This gravity circuit ensures that when higher-grade ore from underground is introduced that it is recovered prior to the leach circuit.

In addition to the project being executed on time and on budget, it is effectively meeting its process objectives by increasing recovery levels when the new underground run of mine material is processed.
